Not Enough Time?

"I don't have time for this!" "I am too old to do that!" "I am too busy now." "I don't have enough hours in my day..."

How many time have you heard these sayings? I bet countless times. However, there might be a couple of fundamental truths you may have forgotten. Permit me to remind you.

Time, in all its manifestations, is another of the three grand illusions. The other two are money and death.

One irrefutable fact we might recall is that we all have exactly 24 hours in every day, which is 1,440 minutes or 86,400 seconds. What we choose to do with them is what makes the difference, how we prioritize the things and people we want to spend our "time" on.

Another fundamental truth is that time is mind-made. It is not "natural". Man invented time to deny his own natural state, which is eternal. You see, who you really are (not your body or your stuff but your soul) is eternal. What is real (not mind-made) cannot be destroyed and you cannot lose it.

Did you know that clocks and watches were not at all common until the industrial revolution, when train service was introduced? People rose with the Sun and went to bed with the Sun. Of course, nobility had clocks and even pocket watches because they had appointments to keep but the common folk could not see a use for them. The church bells peeled for the time of service or when a funeral needed to be attended.

What is "time" to a god(ess) who is eternal???

I will end with a favorite quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson:

What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.
